How to repair the rear bumper
You will need
- - flat and Phillips screwdriver;
- - fine-grained stainless steel mesh;
- - masking tape;
- - soldering iron 75 watts (more)
The first thing you need to do is remove the bumper from the car. This work is painstaking and long. Using a flat screwdriver, pull out 3 pistons, which are located under the bumper and 2 pistons on each side, which fasten it to the fenders. Also loosen the mounting bolts holding the bumper on the body. Next, using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the 2 screws that secure the taillights on the body. Very carefully remove the taillight and disconnect the harness from it.
In the holes where the lanterns were located, unscrew one bolt one by one, with which the bumper is attached to the body, remove the pins from the cap, and then remove it. Using a flat-head screwdriver, pry and remove the 4 pistons securing the lining of the trunk, and remove it. Unscrew the nuts holding the bumper reinforcement.Remove the bumper mounting bolts to the body and, calling for help, remove the bumper.
Now deal with damage, unscrew the amplifier and clean the inner surface of the bumper from dirt. Take the masking tape and pull the crack from the outside, pressing the bumper in this place as tightly as possible. Cut the prepared mesh into small pieces of 10x60 mm. After that, attach the first piece and heat it with a soldering iron, then the next, etc. Wait until all the pieces have cooled and hardened. If necessary, slightly tint the bumper outside.
When all the repair work on the bumper is finished, you can begin to attach it to the car in the reverse order of removal.
