Watch Jon Bon Jovi Surprise Fan Who Is Fighting Stage 4 Cancer
Carol Cesario has wanted to meet Jon Bon Jovi for the last 30 years. Last weekend, Cesario, who's battling stage 4 lung cancer, finally got to meet the singer in a surprise encounter that began weeks earlier with a message on Facebook from her daughter.
In May, Cesario's daughter Rosie Skripkunis made a sign on a piece of newspaper and shared it on Facebook. Within an hour, NBC Connecticut reported, Skripkunis was in touch with Bon Jovi's team making plans.
On June 25th, Cesario and her family were invited to Bon Jovi's restaurant, JBJ Soul Kitchen in Tom's River, New Jersey, for dinner. But Skripkunis didn't tell her mom every detail.
"I lied to her," Skripkunis told NBC Connecticut. "I told her I wrote to his restaurant, that they said they couldn't pass fan mail on, but that they had invited us for a free meal. It was a free meal, but it was a free meal with Bon Jovi there."
Skripkunis made sure she caught the surprise moment on camera as Bon Jovi snuck in through the door behind Carol.
"It was a very emotional and amazing day for our whole family," . "This has been one of the best days of our family's life. Seeing my mom this happy filled me with so much joy. Jon is an amazing human."
Bon Jovi spent over an hour with the family at the restaurant and played his new album for his longtime fan. He also gave Cesario an autographed guitar and book.
